Episode 47: Let's Get Into It and On With It

Well hello from the Quarantine Chronicles!

Chryssy opens the show with an apology for being late on our commitments to you during this crisis and for posting so incessantly (PAY ATTENTION TO ME!)

Today we get into it, which is the Chryssy and Heather way, but we also talk about getting on with it. We are living in a strange time, but it’s time to keep living.

We are entering a new normal, one that comes with uncertainty. There is a sadness in losing our old lifestyle, but also a joy in simplicity anew. We are proud to be adapting, and we talk about some of the ways we are starting to adapt.

There’s a soapbox about self-consciousness. It’s time to let that go. Take care of yourself however you need to right now. You have permission, and a judgment free zone.

Chryssy’s “For Your Eyes Only” for this show said we were going to talk about grief. But she wasn’t really feeling it and it seems you weren’t really either. So, we did a quick Chryssy’s cursory Google search that landed us here –

Megan O’Rourke – The Long Goodbye

Joan Didion – The Year of Magical Thinking (and a Netflix piece about her called The Center Will Not Hold – good stuff)

https://psychcentral.com/lib/the-5-stages-of-loss-and-grief/ - The 5 Stages of Grief (a summary)

https://whatsyourgrief.com/types-of-grief/ - This site talks about types of grief, including ‘collective grief,’ which is what we are experiencing today.

The grab bag today harkened back to a much earlier episode, “Yucky Stuff Your Mom Made You Eat (Episode 5).” Now that Chryssy and Heather have become cooks at home, we talked about how domestic life is coming along and what we are attempting to feed our children.

This episode turned out fairly light and tongue-in-cheek, and we are happy to present that to you, not only because it’s what we promise you, Chryseather fans, but because it means we are feeling better – we are still committed to only giving you what’s REAL.

Until next time.
